Founded by Carl Read, GlowRed.com started as a web design agency in 1998 located in Birmingham in the United Kingdom. An initial GlowRed.com web site was developed and soon a number of web sites were being designed for customers, based in the United Kingdom.

The web sites developed were varied and were either content based, that described the products and services offered by a business, or e-commerce solutions, that enabled businesses to sell their products online to a worldwide audience.
